In August 2009, I gave birth to my second gorgeous baby girl, Rowan Grace. Just 3 weeks later, we were called by the Alberta Childrens’ Hospital and they advised us that some markers had been found on Rowan’s newborn screen and that she had Cystic Fibrosis. To say that we were devastated would be an understatement and the past 5 years have proven to be the most emotionally difficult we have ever faced as a young family.
Having said all that, we have quickly learned that Rowan’s health – as far as Cystic Fibrosis goes – is remarkable and after all of the dust settled, we felt a strong calling to contribute as much as we could in the efforts to find a cure. To date, The Princess Ball has had 2,250 attendees and raised a remarkable $155,000 to help us find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!
